Audio keeps playing in the background with Lock Screen, Control Center, and headphone transport controls. Artwork and current media information remain available where iOS listeners expect them.

Leaf Player keeps source access, browsing, playback, resume, metadata, and recovery connected—so personal media feels like a library, not a pile of URLs.
Long-form listening
Resume positions, 15-second seeking for long or unknown-duration audio, pitch-preserved speeds at 0.75×, 1×, 1.5×, and 2×, plus sleep timers for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, one hour, or the end of the current track.
Queues, shuffle, and repeat
Start a queue from a folder or Favorite, move between tracks, shuffle independently, and choose list repeat, single-track repeat, or off. The queue stays a listening session rather than rewriting your folders.
Favorites without file changes
Add audio to the built-in Favorite playlist while leaving the underlying local or remote folder untouched. Temporary source outages do not erase the membership.
Two playback routes, one interface
Native containers use Apple’s playback stack. Extended containers such as MKV and AVI use the app’s MobileVLCKit route, while the same source-neutral controls and resume behavior stay in front of you.
Controls made for watching
Play, pause, scrub, seek, change speed, choose a 5-, 10-, or 15-second skip interval, lock the controls, and use immersive full-screen viewing. Playback can continue to the next video in its current context.
Subtitles
Leaf Player supports embedded soft subtitles and external .srt sidecars when the subtitle file shares the video’s basename. Burned-in subtitles remain part of the picture.
Useful technical facts
When known, Leaf Player can show container, codec, resolution, and duration details. Unsupported or unusual media produces a bounded failure rather than silently disappearing from a session.
Continue where you stopped
Playback progress is stored by stable media identity. A short network interruption, refreshed listing, or evicted thumbnail should not make Leaf Player forget a recognizable item or your place in it.
Offline folders
Eligible remote folders can be made available offline with per-file progress, transfer speed, expected size, and a clear distinction between complete, downloading, incomplete, and failed work.
Metadata off the critical path
Audio tags, artwork, video facts, and thumbnails are enriched asynchronously. Opening the library and starting playback remain the priority while decorative information catches up.
Server Check
Run bounded diagnostics against configured SMB, WebDAV, and Jellyfin targets. Connection and representative playback checks turn “it doesn’t work” into facts you can act on.
Platform: the public version supports iOS 17 or later on iPhone and iPad. Specific formats and routes can depend on their codecs, source server, network, and device.
