Local media
Bring supported audio and video into Leaf Player’s app-owned library. Local playback uses direct file access, works offline, and needs no cloud or server sign-in.
Where your media can live
Leaf Player connects to simple folders, cloud accounts, home servers, and Jellyfin. Direct file sources stay file-shaped; a media server can provide its richer catalog.
Bring supported audio and video into Leaf Player’s app-owned library. Local playback uses direct file access, works offline, and needs no cloud or server sign-in.
Choose one or more folders exposed by Apple’s Files picker, including iCloud Drive and compatible providers. Leaf Player retains permission and plays files in place rather than copying the complete folder.
Open a temporary transfer page from a computer on the same network and send supported files to your device. The receiver exists only while its owning screen and app state are active.
Connect multiple Google accounts independently and choose the specific audio or video files Leaf Player may access. Removing a selection or signing out does not delete the file from Drive.
Connect personal or Work/School accounts, then add selected folders from the account’s primary OneDrive. Accounts remain separate and remote content is read-only.
Connect a share on a NAS, Mac, PC, or other SMB server, choose a default root or additional folders, and stream with byte-range seeking. Credentials are protected in the iOS Keychain.
Connect HTTPS WebDAV or private/local HTTP WebDAV, choose roots, and stream read-only. Leaf Player distinguishes authentication, reachability, TLS, listing, folder, and playback failures.
Connect multiple servers and users to browse Movies, Series, Seasons, and Episodes with artwork and descriptive metadata. Playback follows the direct-play, direct-stream, remux, or transcode route returned by your server.
| Source | Browse/play | Offline scope | Remote file changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local media | Direct on-device | Already local | App-owned local library |
| Files folders | Play in place | Provider-dependent availability | Read-only in Leaf Player |
| Google Drive | Selected files | Eligible media | Read-only |
| OneDrive | Selected folders | Eligible roots | Read-only |
| SMB / WebDAV | Folders and media | Eligible roots | Read-only |
| Jellyfin | Semantic catalog | Capability-dependent | No content management |
Security note: authenticated remote playback travels through an app-owned localhost proxy so playback engines do not receive provider bearer tokens or private source credentials.
